Poem Post - The Marionette

Posted in Blog, Poetry, Writing on April 19th, 2007

The Marionette
By Alexander Roberts

You lurk behind every shadow.
Controlling my every move, every action.
You are my puppeteer and I, your willful puppet.

Such a sadistic master you are, enjoying my pain.
Wrenching me around uncontrollably.
As you pull forcefully on my strings.

Someday and somehow.
I will break free, soon you will see.
Of the restrictive strings that bind me.

I will be free from your control.
Free from these puppet bindings.
Free to live my live on my own.

Lining my life free from your sadistic control of me.

Poem Post - The Treasures Which cannot be Stolen

Posted in Blog, Poetry, Writing on April 11th, 2007

Here’s one another of poems I wrote after a failed relationship a few years ago before I met current ex, Becky. Many people have stated that I am a good poem writer but I do not write for anyone but myself.

The Treasures which cannot be Stolen
By: Alexander Roberts

The treasure which cannot be stolen.
My heart that beats within.
My soul that burns so brightly.

With my touch ever so lightly.
I caress your cheek gently.
Whispering softly into your ear.

Did you know?
My heart and soul.
Belong to you.

As I close my eyes.
Drifting into my deep slumber.
My dreams begin to surface.

Inner-most thoughts
Become the outer-most
Memories from the past arise.

Past, forever set in stone.
Present, constantly shifting.
Future, seemingly mysterious.

Life is wonderful to behold.
I dream what roads in life.
That I shall travel upon.

The melody of life in a distant.
Gentle melody heard by my ears.
A soothing tranquility overcomes me.

Love, life, happiness, and soul!
Don’t you know what these are?
They are treasures which cannot be stolen.

Poem Post - Silver Moonlight Tears

Posted in Blog, Hosting, Poetry, Website, Writing on April 9th, 2007

Since I moved to a new host, I’ve yet to upload my index file to the main domain along with all my other files I maintained with Dreamhost. So for now, I’m going to repost some of my poems from time to time. Most of the poems were written after a break up a couple years ago and I can admit would be called “emo”.

Silver Moonlight Tears
By
Alexander Roberts

Glowing moonlight surrounds me.
I glance across the lake as the moonlight dances upon it.
Thinking of you as my heart aches.

Shut my eyes in pain, a single tear begins to shed.
The tears of a broken heart, tears of a lost love.
Wonder to myself if somehow I could have changed.

Teardrops of my sorrow begin to fall like the rain.
Flooding the ground with my heartache, pain, and suffering
Am I destined to live life alone?

Silver moonlight tears please go away.
To allow my heart.
To mend its breaks.

Silver moonlight tears evaporate.
Like a lake under the sun in summer’s grace.
Do not dry up my heart like a desert.

Please allow me to love again!
