Soylent Green is People.

Posted in Blog, Geek, Life, Weekend on October 8th, 2007

I know, I know, it has been awhile since I updated the blog. Sometimes I get busy and sometimes I get lazy. However, deal with it, this isn’t the fucking Truman show.

Weight Update: 221 pounds - 31 pounds last so far.

Last Monday, had my first Aikido class and I loved it. It was a wonderful work out and I quite enjoy it so far as well as learning a new thing.

Friday: Hung out with Christa, Chris, Alex, and Nate and another girl’s name that I’ve lost… We played Dungeons and Dragons with Drinking. I played a dwarf cleric.. named Dorf Derrick Dwarf Cleric.. He had some pretty shitty stats but he was the life of the party. He was comedic gold that night. Went cheap that night and had some Miller High Life. don’t you know it’s the champagne of beer! =P We called an early night cause Christa some person business to attend to and I was just really tired.

Saturday: Went out to dinner and a movie with Joy and Lee. The movie we saw was Feast of Love. A romance drama that was really good. Morgan Freeman was great in it and it was filmed in Portland. I don’t remember where we went to dinner but it was expensive but good.. Necephblogort something I think.

Sunday: Reconnected with my friend Kitten. We kinda had a failure to launch our friendship and such last time because I just wasn’t a good spot in my life at the time. We went to the Kennedy school and saw Harry Potter & The Order of the Phoenix. I love this series! The food was pretty good too. After that we went around downtown for awhile. She is looking cute and beautiful as usual. I think we’ll hang more often now. Least I hope.

So, there’s your wonderful update :). Now get out of here! Just kidding.

Is this post… Algebraic? or… Rhombus?

Posted in Blog, Geek, Life on September 18th, 2007

So, here’s the weekend update.. only 2 days late this time!

Weight update: As of 9/15/07, 223.5 pounds, lost 5.5 pounds last week, with a total lost of 28.5 pounds in the last 2.5 months. Hey, I like this progress and I am very proud of myself. I didn’t know I had to will power to this until one day I decided to just do it and here I am now.

Friday & Saturday: These day were spent hanging with the Friend of Epic Win, Christa, we played video games, for the most part, watched some videos on Youtube, listen to some music. Played beatmania IIDX, DDR, Keyboardmania (which sucks) and Guitar Hero. Of course, when were playing DDR, she used the controller while I used the Cobalt flux dance pad.

Saturday night, we met at Hobo’s while she and her friend were having dinner and we head over to Ground Kontrol for some DDR that night. We didn’t stay long since their legs were tired from walking all the way from Washington Park and I just didn’t have it in me to play more than 3 games.  I liked her friend from High school, I forgot his name so I hope they forgive me for that memory loss. However, a guy who is funny, smart, and plays DDR is a friend of mine.

Sunday was the usual lazy day of watching tv, doing my laundry and finished up season 1 of Battlestar Galactica. I can’t wait to get Season 2 from my Netflix queue. Also, almost done with Season 5 of Queer of Folk which is not shaping up to be that great. Arrested Development Season 1 coming up in my queue too.

The Job is going well, last week, I made 309 costing tickets and 2% overall error rate. I made 4 errors on two reports today so I think it going up again for this week and I don’t know if I will get to my projected goal of 350 tickets. Starting next report week I will get my own logins.

Lonely is the night…

Posted in Blog, Life on September 11th, 2007

Hey all, sorry for not updating for nearly 2 weeks. First of all, you’re probably wondering how the diet is going. Still going strong, still have not had regular soda for going on 2 1/2 months.

September 1st, 2007 - 230.5 pounds
September 8th, 2007 - 229 pounds
Total Weight Lost So far - 23 pounds

I did not have much money on Labor day weekend so I did not do much except watch some tv, play some video games, and went to Becky’s BBQ on Sunday. Met a few hot trangender women from Trans-ponder, Mila & Jayna along with their friend Mandy. Some of our other friends were there and I got to see my puppy, Aeris. I miss her alot. Overall it was a great evening.

Last weekend was great as well. Hung out with Christa and other friends at the Ambassador Restaurant on 47th and Sandy. It was my friend Joy’s birthday along with some of her co-workers and her other friends. I had 3 AMFs, got pretty wasted and yes, I did bust my Karaoke cherry. I sang 99 Red Balloons with Joy.

Was supposed to go to the Widmer Oktoberfest at the Widmer brewery but those plans were canceled because she was not feeling well because of a bad headache. Completely understandable, so instead I straighten up the apartment a little and took a nap among other things.

Sunday was a lazy day, took a nap, did laundry and bought some groceries. That’s about it.

Today… well today I went the Muse Concert because last week my friend Bob gave me his ticket since he could not make it because of work. I meet up with Christa but we only saw each other for like 10 minutes since we were in different parts of the concert hall.

Muse was great, for not knowing much of their music, it was really fucking good. I am want to get more of their albums and of course I will see them again once they come back to Portland.

However, it is now time to move onto a new topic. Emotional one so bear with me or don’t read it.

Between the end of the second opening band and the beginning of the Muse. I felt really lonely. I’ve been feeling rather lonely for quite awhile. I mean, here I was at a concert of a band I don’t know too well with no one else there I knew on the ground floor. Sure, My friend Christa was there but we only hung out for maybe 10 minutes at the most.

Seeing all the couples.. it affected my loneliness. I’ve been single for nearly a year. I’ve tried meeting people for dating on Craigslist with no fucking luck. Other dating sites have not proved useful as well. I cannot get out as often as I would like because of my job works me from 8:15am to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday.

I’ve been on this diet because I thought I was/still unattractive to most women out there. I mean sure I’ve lost weight and that’s good for me. I dunno, I am thinking maybe there’s something wrong with me. I just miss having someone around, to talk to, hang out with, be intimate with, kiss, caress and cuddle with. I was really emotional at the show. Before Muse came on, I had to fight back tears cause I was thinking about this alot… it was rather depressing.

I am trying to optimistic, expand my social network, gather more friends, go out and do more. All in all it has been a sucess but I have not found anyone for an romantic interest. *sigh* Sorry about that. Had to let it out.

Fuck yeah… I’m a modern cool nerd!

Posted in Blog, Computer, Geek, Life on September 9th, 2007

Your Score: Modern, Cool Nerd

60 % Nerd, 69% Geek, 26% Dork

For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn’t use to be cool, but in the 90’s that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn’t quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and “geek is chic.” The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!

Congratulations!

Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you’re interested in any of the following:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Pop Music Is Not A Crime

Posted in Blog, Life, Music, Weekend on August 27th, 2007

Time for another weekend update from your good old friend, Alex or Cephiros… whatever you wanna call me. Before we get started on updating you on my weekend activities. There is a weight update.

8/25/07 - 232.5 pounds - lost 1.5 pounds - total lost: 19.5 in slightly under 2 months.

Friday Evening - Kicked it old school style with two people from the Damn Portlanders Livejournal Community. That would be with [Freyis - ] and [Katlyn - ]. We went to Wunderland and played some Dance Dance Revolution and DMX and some other games as well. After that, we had dinner at a really and not too expensive Chinese place. I think it was around 29th and Belmont. I’m not completely sure. We talked, had fun, really glad I hung out with them.

Saturday - Seumas and I cleaned up the apartment a little bit. It still needs some work but looking better than before. Went to the mall, hung out with Aaron, Ben, Seumas. We also went to Fry’s Electronics and checked out the wares but I didn’t anything. Aaron couldn’t buy Invasion from Space on DVD I believe it was. The reason being because it had a street date of 9/4/07 or something of that sort but there was a copy on the floor.

Went to Bangkok Palace and had some really good Thai food that tasted like the stuff when I was really in Thailand. After that, it was time go to the Freezepop show. The first opening act, Operation Mission was really really good and he kicked the synths from his gameboy. Bringing back the sounds of 1989. PGE was okay, some of their stuff was good but overall, it was kinda bland. Michele Wylen, was cute, pretty good but it sucked as she was starting her show, since there was tons of feedback.

However, Freezepop was fucking great. I loved all the songs they played. Boys on Film, Brainpower, Pop Music Is Not A Crime, Final Countdown, Less Talk More Rokk and more. I was dancing and grooving to the sounds of great synth pop. After the show, were meeting people, selling band stuff and signing Guitar Hero controllers.

The only thing I did not like about the show was this group of annoying fucks who got really drunk. They started being abnormally loud, hitting machines. A guy and girl from the group were really drunk and they started making out and dry humping to Freezepop which was kinda funny.

Sunday - Hung out with Becky. Watched and got hooked on some Battlestar Galatical and I really like it that I moved it up to the number 1 spot in my Netflix queue. Took the our dog, Aeris to the Mt. Tabor. We had a blast, had some dinner at Burgerville. Did my laundry. Basically, a pretty lazy Sunday after all.

That’s all for now.

Best Quote of Epic Lulz

Posted in Blog on August 22nd, 2007

Here’s a quote from my roommate

Growing up, I didn’t have any imaginary friends. But, that made me wonder. If you masturbate, and fantasize about having sex with someone, is that someone your imaginary friend? Because, if that’s the case, then I’ve got loads of ‘em

Lulz, a corrupted form of LOL

Posted in Blog, Life, Video Games on August 20th, 2007

So, I haven’t updated in awhile and I’m bet you’re curious to how my weekend went? No? Fuck you, read it anyways.

Friday: Went to Superbad with my two friends Marcus and Christa. However, before that we had some sushi at the ever popular and best sushi place, Sushi Takahashi. We arrived at the Regal Pioneer Place theater around 5 minutes before the movies started and there was a long line to buy tickets, suckers. We came prepared, I bought our tickets on Fandango. While the commercials are horrible, the service is very convenient. After that, we just sorta hanged for a little, talked while we waited for my blue line MAX. Oh yeah, Superbad was Supergood and I suggest everyone to see it who likes these kinds of movies.

Saturday: Laundry day for me… woot.. Earlier this day I made a post to the DamnPortlanders livejournal community to see if anyone. Actually got a few people interested but they already had plans that night. However, I still went to Ground Kontrol but around 7pm instead of the time I posted earlier. I played some DDR, and of course other games as well. Brought some spare clothes for the excursion out. Impressed a few people with the Arrow smash skillz. Talked to some of them, talked to a cool bartender lady. Lots of cute girls there but I didn’t really talk to any of them. I’m in the stage of putting myself out there, trying to be more social and such. I’m sure it would be easier for me meet more if I had a friend with me. Perhaps another time.

Weight Update: Lost 1.5 pounds - down to 234 - Lost 18 pounds in the last 1.5 months.

Sunday: Becky and I were supposed to go out to Mt. Hood for a hike but there was a high chance of rain. I had cramped my leg pretty badly and I guess both of us preferred a lazy Sunday and moved our plans to next Sunday.

Overall, I think it was a good weekend.

This Week

Monday - Called out sick. Yes, I really sick. Going to see if I can make up some time.
Tuesday - Tai Chi workout, Vitamin Shoppe for more Tonalin and Protein Shake stuff, both or just the shake stuff
Wednesday - Free Day
Thursday - Dinner with Joy and Lee
Friday - DDR Arrow Smash with 2 people from DamnPortlanders LJ community.
Saturday - Possible Meetup with more DamnPortlanders who are going to the Freezepop show
Sunday - Hanging out with Becky and My dog, Aeris

Posted in Blog on August 16th, 2007

This is a serious post even though the title is a contradiction.

As almost anyone who has read my blogs.. as sporadic as the posts might be. I’ve been going through alot of changes. I’ve pretty much quit playing World of Warcraft which is good. I found a new job that actually like but also provides me with challenge while I learn the ropes and it pays well. I’ve been on a diet that is going on its second month with a lost of 16.5 pounds so far. I even changed my look a little bit too.

So, I’ve been single for nearly a year. While I am not in the rush to get into another serious relationship. I do miss the fruits of casual dating someone can bear. I don’t know exactly what I want. I’m not really into the one night stand scene. For me, to have sex with someone I have to know them a little bit. I guess some would say I’m seeking a friend with benefits. It’s possible but not quite sure.

My friend Christa and I both made lists of what we would want in a potential romantic interest. Most of them are not deal breakers and I’m sure there are stuff I want that I forgot to put on my list. Through, my whole experience and on the advice of friends, Craigslist is hopeless. Only 2 good things for me came from Craigslist. I should give up on it but it draws at you. However, getting no replies is like getting rejected. However, In the dating scene, rejection is a part of life.  I do get disappointed and sometimes I think maybe something is wrong with me. I try to stop it from affecting me too much.

Anyways, maybe I might meet a cute, single geek girl at Ground Kontrol this Saturday. I have to reinstall WindowsXP becuase I got something from a public tracker and the system is infected pretty badly.

I need head to bed, I am up way too late. You might get some insightful posts in the future if you’re lucky.

If you read this blog post, Chicks will have sex with you.

Posted in Blog, Craigslist, Music on August 12th, 2007

The X if you do this, chicks will have sex with you seems to be a running joke between two sets of my friends now. So the past few days have been quite interesting to stay the least. I really like this whole social life thing. It is much better to get out and about and not sit at your computer all the time.

So, Thursday, I hang out with one of Summer’s friends, AJ, it was good hanging out with him. We talked, had some dinner and we hung out at Ground Kontrol for a little bit.

Friday, I hung out with Christa, we talked, had dinner at Burgerville. Played some games on my DS. Bitched about Customers and Cell phone companies. Watched some Upright Citizen’s Brigade. Went to Cocktails and Dreams, a strip bar and met the always cool Jasmine. Well! Just let me tell you this. I got a little too drunk I think. I mean I didn’t like blackout drunk but I got really drunk. I had 3 AMFs ! So, I finally spilled the beans, that I liked her, but I didn’t do anything about it cause I valued you our friendship and I didn’t think she thought I was attractive and such. However, that is neither here or there, everything is cool. I met Marcus, and he’s a really cool guy. So, I had to make a little note, if the only way I can tell a girl I like her is after 2-3 AMFs then that’s going to be a very expensive habit! <- bad alcoholic joke.

Saturday, I did have a date but because of issues and miscommunication.. the plans fell through but the person apologized and we have it rescheduled for Wednesday and we’re still going to Sushi Takahashi!

Diet update - Down to 235.5 pounds, that’s a lost of 16.5 pounds in 1.5 months. It is going strong and I’m doing well and I think this is making me more confident and as I told my friend Amy, I think everyone is a work in progress.

I think it has been decided that Craigslist really sucks for dating. I have made many replies to ads but gotten no emails back from them. My own ad didn’t do so well cause the M4W area was flooded with new ads and got bumped to the second page in no time.
