8-Bit Plastic Love Machine

Posted in Battlestar Galactica, Blog, Dollhouse, Entertainment, Hosting, Life, Movies, Netflix, Numb3ers, Pushing Daisies, Relationship, Technology, Television, Website on March 17th, 2009

I apologize, I have not kept my promise to update this blog every day. I find that task to be very tiresome when trying to fit it in my daily routine. Besides, events of just one day may not deserve a post. So, you have to post for a span of days with a steady buildup of events. Excuses? Maybe, but this is my blog and my world and my rules so there.

So, the Sci Fi channel has decided to change their name to appear more mainstream and not be associated with those nasty geeks. Cause you know the stereotype is all those geeks are anti social boys who are extremely overweight, are virgins and play massive amounts of video games, right? The new name is going to be SyFy. I always thought that geek was the now, the chic thing. I’m guess I’m wrong. However, there is no point in watching after this coming with the end of Battlestar Galactica. That might change once Caprica starts and if it is any good.

Stated prior, this coming Friday, March 20th, 2009 is going to be Daybreak, Part 2 which is the very last episode of the new Battlestar Galactica. It has been quite a journey but I am going to miss this show very the much. The drama, the actors, and the story, going to miss it all.

Late summer looks like a go to move web hosts and keep my domain,  cephiros.com up and running worry free for the next three years. This will most likely cost me around $150 or so but it is worth compared to staying with my current host which is costing me $9.95 a month.

Pineapple Expres and Pushing Daisies, Season 1, Disc 2 are on the way from Netflix. Those are should be interesting to watch. Plan to finish season 2, disc 1 of Numbers. I’ve been watching Dollhouse as well and I’m going to reserve judgement for now but I am leaning to liking it and stating it is not too bad.

The week is half over, about to go to sleep. Follow me on twitter, Cephiros is my username. Until the next time!

So say we all!

The Dentists Must Die!

Posted in Blog, Computer, Dead Like Me, Entertainment, Geek, Hosting, Life, Pushing Daisies, Relationship, Technology, Television, Website on March 7th, 2009

So, today was the day I was going to dentist to get a tooth pulled since even with frakking insurance I can’t afford a root canal, build up and crown. My appointment was at 2:30 and the doctor looked at my tooth for maybe 5 mins at the most. Took forever after that, discovered they did not verify my insurance. I did not want to pay full price for a pulled tooth, left and they prescribed me some medication. That took roughly 45 mins  and so I basically I wasted 2 hours and in the end it cost me about 55 dollars. So I’m not happy at all.

So that’s always a good thing. Looking into changing webhosts when I have the money to something cheaper. I will probably prepay for 3 years to make it as cheap as possible. Once I do that I should probably renew my domain for the same timeframe.  However, that will probably cost me around $160 ish so that’s not going to happen for awhile.

Watched Dead Like Me: Life After Death, this was a direct to dvd movie. While I absolutely loved the show, this movie was just alright but still good. I wish this show was not canceled after 2 seasons. The creator of this show also created Pushing Daisies which was also very good but only lasted 2 seasons. What the fuck is up with networks slashing all the great shows out there?

Anyways, that’s all for now, So say we all!

Hosting Changes Abound

Posted in Battlestar Galactica, Blog, Friends, Health, Life, Television on March 7th, 2009

Today, I did get up earlier than usual at 9am for a day off. I messed around on the computer for awhile and then went along with my room mate Matt to run some errands. Had lunch at Red Robin, deposited their rent into my checking account since I already gave the landlord the rent check. Hung out a little with my friend Bob, then off to meet up with my friend Becky so we can watch some Battlestar Galactica. It was a great episode and I can’t wait to for next week. It is a pity that the show is ending. Changing the web hosting plan for the 7.95 monthly plan, which is great since we don’t need the business plan but it is annoying that I have to pay a freaking $10 fee to downgrade. Oh well.

Oh yeah, I did talk with my friend Edward. Tomorrow is the dreaded dental appointment. That’s all for now. So say we all!

10 Years…Already?

Posted in Battlestar Galactica, Blog, Dance Dance Revolution, Entertainment, Life, Movies, School, Television, Video Games on March 4th, 2009

It’s 2009 and that means it has been 10 years since my high school graduation. There is a facebook group for the reunion I joined. However, When thinking to myself. Do I really want to go? I mean, I have not finished college since I needed a job to pay my bills and debt. I’m not married and I have no children. I mean I’ve had some cool experiences. I just don’t know. Regardless I would like to catch up with people. I will probably go if there are concrete plans that it is going to happen.

I just realized that I’ve been playing Dance Dance Revolution for nearly the same amount of time. It is crazy I still play but damn do I love that video game. It is probably the longest I’ve been playing a video game. Anyways, enough of that, we all know I love to smash the arrows.

So, one of my room mates is going off to visit his hometown in about a month to figure some stuff out. He might not come back. However, he is going to give us two months of rent and utilities. Hopefully, if he does not come back I can find someone who is reponsible and willing to take the biggest bedroom for approximate amount of $300 for rent and utilities. The only issues is that one of the room mates prefers to basically live in Living room. So, that would be off limits for the most part. $300 total is a really good deal and I’m sure someone will go for it.

Almost Friday, Almost time for Battlestar Galactica, So Say We All!

Amazon, You Vex Me

Posted in Blog, Life on March 3rd, 2009

Making a quick post before I head off to dream land. I recently acquired $100 in Amazon Gift Cards when I turned in my Wells Fargo Rewards points from one of my credit cards. I’ve been looking and have not found anything that I would not regret later. So far in 2009, I’ve living with my goal of staying within my means and not using credit cards at all. I recently discovered I cannot my gift balance for digital distribution games from Amazon so there goes my potential purchase of Risk and Puzzle Quest. Looked at some of the Battlestar Galactic stuff but not much of was too appealing. I could get some more books but I’m already reading Brave New World and have 2 more books queued up after that.

I simply don’t know what to purchase, anyways I have to sleep now. Until next time.

Oh, I Do Have A Reader!

Posted in Blog, Geek, Life, Technology, Video Games, Website on March 1st, 2009

Can you believe it? I’m going to post twice in the same day! It has recently been discovered that I do have at least one reader. So, March is going to be a month of changes. Much to the dismay of Wall Street, I am going to constrict my spending on eating out. My goal for March is to not eat out at all. In addition, I am going to try and make at least one blog post a day. It doesn’t have to be some diatribe. Posts might be big or they might be small but there will be some post everyday I hope. I mean I did renew the domain for another year. I should at least write in it, don’t you think?

In order to access my email on my Sprint Instinct, I’ve setup a gmail account that has access to my other three email accounts. Slowly I’m going to begin phasing my email to just one address and Thunderbird will only have access to two emails addresses at most. Also, I’ve decided to clean up my saved passwords for websites. I’m going to delete the them for the websites I no longer visit. Basically I’m going to clean up all my information so I don’t have my data tentacles everywhere.

I fear, I’m becoming addicted to Facebook. Usually I abhor any social networking site. I rarely use myspace but it is so easy to use Facebook on my new phone. I am looking foward to eventually getting an invite to chi.mp so I can converge all my social networking sites. That’s all for now on that subject.

As for the fate of Savedgame.net. This gaming blog was setup before I became a writer on Platform Nation. I was unsure I had the skill to become a writer on a website with a steady stream of visitors. However, I conquered those fears and I enjoy being a writer for that short period. However, August 2008 was when that tragedy happened where all my stuff got stolen except for my computer and my old standard def television. My interest in video games declined since I lost it all and could not bear to write anymore about video games. I still only have limited access to video games, mainly Nintendo DS, PS2, and PC games from time to time. The domain expires in June so I have some time to decide if I want to use it.

That’s all for now, next update…3 months from now! Just kidding. :)

One More Year For A Blog With No Readers

Posted in Battlestar Galactica, Blog, Entertainment, Hosting, Life, Television, Video Games, Website, Writing on March 1st, 2009

Late breaking news…Cephiros.com domain has been renewed for yet another year. It has consistently under-performed each year with no readers whatsoever. In these challenging economic times, we did consider a workforce reduction. However, upon greater inspection and the mere cost of a overpriced value meal at your local McDonald’s. Maybe, just maybe we’ll get a reader this year. Maybe we won’t!

As you know, I’ve been lazy, more than lazy, I nearly abandoned my blog. I left it to fend for itself and it has survived. I applaud its efforts while I’ve been gone and only wish it is willing to accept my apology. I’ve have not been doing much lately except work and working on my budget  and ween myself off my sick reliance to credit. Looking forward to being personal debt free, having my 401k fully vested after 5 years and returning to complete school to become a CPA.

Just played The Price Is Right game, I downloaded from Amazon and It is a fun little casual game. It is like an endless show, which could be your heaven or hell. Also, it has no Bob Barker. For a price of $9.99, I don’t know if it is quite worth it!

Watched this week’s Battlestar Galactica. It was pretty good with answering questions and creating about a billion more. Only 3 more episodes to go. It is going to be sad to see the show no longer on. Anyways, I’m tired and going to sleep. Until next time, see you in about six months. I’m joking! Only 3 months this time….

From the Depths of Hell, I arise!

Posted in Blog, Dance Dance Revolution, Friends, Geek, Life, Video Games, Weekend on September 28th, 2008

So I am nearly complete with my move in to a temporary residence. This weekend has gone well. Hung out with some friends, talked about our future place we will be moving into. I tried to play a little Final Fantasy IV DS for over the weekend and decided that Golbez is freaking hard has hell with his damn barrier shift.

Moved around some of the stuff of the living room too clear out the space. Played some Dance Dance Revolution today. I was only worked out 412 calories instead of 650 like I wanted.

I need to head over to Borders sometime this week or weekend and pick up “The Road” and start reading it since I’ll be riding public transit once again.

Anyways, not much going on, just glad to be out of my apartment.

Like a Phoenix, I rise from the Ashes

Posted in Blog, Friends, Geek, Life, Relationship, Rockband, Technology, Video Games, Xbox 360 on September 23rd, 2008

So, you might be wondered why I have no updated the blog and there seems to be missing entries. I deleted a bunch of entries because they were about a person I’ve decided to cut ouf my life completely. Life is more peaceful this way and no longer filled with as much drama.

So, I’m single again, I learned some new things, and next time I know how to proceed with relationships much better. The time is for me and my friends that are true and real that I hold dear. I am going to lose all that weight I gained back and lose even more. I am not doing this because I feel that I will be more attractive to women. I am doing it to be much healthier. I’m already cute and attractive as told by many of my female friends.

So, what’s going on in my life? I am moving out of my current residence and moving in with a friend for a short period of time. I am looking to find a residence with a couple other friends. I’m really excited about that chapter in my life. I have a wonderful new friend from New York that I’m getting to know. She is a really cool friend who has an awesome family. Well, it does help that she thinks I’m super cute! lol!

I am looking foward to stablizing my budget so I can pay back a friend what I owe her and work towards getting a tv and xbox 360 so I can get back into some gaming. I terribly miss playing Rockband and I have not even touched Rockband 2. I really wanted to be back into gaming because I’m currently an inactive writer over at Platform Nation. Found the next books I’m going to read, “The Road” and “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist”

Is there anything else I’ve forgotten? Oh yeah, still fighting for a credit on my over draft fees with Washington Mutual because Best Buy double charged me and sent my account overdrawn. They are trying to tell me that Best Buy should give me back the overdraft fees when it was them that charged it. It I don’t get it back I will be leaving that bank for good.

The Last thing, I am the winner of Cyberpunks Gaming’s CPNK Award for Cyberpunks Gaming Podcast XXV. Very proud to have this and thank my friends over there, Simon DI and Micheal DI. Please check out their show over at Cyberpunks Gaming

Well my friends, that’s all for this update. I promise to try and post more into future.

Websites Issues, Videogames, and Such! Oh my!

Posted in Blog, Geek, Life, Video Games, Website, Wordpress, Xbox 360 on July 2nd, 2008

While trying to setup a blog related application on my facebook and I find out my RSS feed is not working. So, I got to my site and I discover I am getting a 500 internal error. This is strange since I had not work on my blog for quite awhile and made no changes recently. So, backed up all my plugins, themes, images, and SQL database. Deleted the current installation. I was having some troubles after reinstalling but the issues are resolved now.

Became a writer over at Platform Nation and I posted my first review for Ticket to Ride. I am glad that I am given this chance to become better known in the gaming community and sharpen my writing skills. Check the site out. Lots of great people and many podcasts that are fun to listen to.

Looking foward to tomorrow being over with at work so my weekend can start. I will of course attempt to write here more now that I am car pooling to and from work. Remember, stay cool.
